This course will concentrate on two forms of renewable energy-wind and solar-and on the role of smart grids in addressing the problems associated with the efficient and reliable delivery and use of electricity and with the integration of renewable sources.
Objective of most national energy policies worldwide aim at clean energy which is a global and urgent imperative. Renewable generation, especially from wind and solar, and smart grid concepts are critical technologies needed to address global warming and related issues. The key challenge is to reduce the cost of renewable energies to affordable levels. Control and related technologies will be essential for solving these complex problems. This course goes over all the difficulties and technologies needed to make the renewable energy more available.
