This course provides guidance on generic types of onsite wastewater treatment and disposal systems. It contains neither standards for those systems nor rules and regulations pertaining to onsite systems. The design information presented herein is intended as technical guidance reflective of sound, professional practice.
By the end of this course, the participant should understand that groundwater and surface water pollution are major environmental considerations when onsite systems are used. The participant will also learn how all wastewater treatment and disposal systems must be designed, constructed, operated, and maintained to prevent degradation of both groundwater and surface water quality.
